Individual therapy is conducted in a 45-minute private, confidential meeting with Dr. Flannick. Treatment typically is requested for any of the following reasons: because the person needs a safe place to explore their thoughts and feelings without the possibility of repercussions for doing so; the person simply can’t figure out how to manage their life situation or emotions and wants professional assistance in devising helpful strategies; or the person wants an unbiased professional opinion about their circumstances. The person usually leaves the first visit having already made progress toward their goals.
Many types of problems are addressed in individual sessions, including marital conflicts, child management difficulties, other relationship problems, job stresses, religious questions, and so on; many individuals have accompanying symptoms of depression or anxiety.

Dr. James Flannick passed into his eternal reward on Aug. 29, 2025, after living with cancer for more than two years. He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, as well as three children and nine grandchildren.
A devoted and loving husband and father, Dr. Flannick practiced for more than 40 years as a clinical psychologist, a vocation through which he sought to serve as a conduit of God's grace. May his legacy, Parakleseos, continue bearing fruits in the lives of those he counseled.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
